Now you’ve probably spotted this, but making stuff up and then believing it is a sure-fire way to self-torment.

When you're worried about your relationship, it's easy to see problems everywhere.

But of course any relationship has ebbs and flows, moments of intimacy and cooler times. These ebbs and flows are normal.

Just like the sea, the tides of your relationship come and go.

Wanting to be absolutely close and intimate all the time is like wanting the tide to be in all the time. Unrealistic and dangerous.

Being able to distinguish between what you're worrying about and what is actually happening is a massive step toward self-assurance.
