In modern life, it's all too easy to feel stressed, overwhelmed, and on edge. Too much work, not enough sleep, and an over-reliance on caffeine can quickly leave you feeling like you're at the end of your tether.
Our bodies evolved over millions of years to handle life-threatening situations through the fight-or-flight response. If a hungry lion leaped out at you in the jungle, your body would instinctively flood itself with adrenaline, increasing your heart rate and breathing while diverting resources away from non-urgent functions like digestion and the immune system.
