Use the Cope with Financial Loss Hypnosis Script to Help Clients Move On

Guide your clients to be patient and kind with themselves as they gradually come to terms with their financial loss

A significant financial loss can be a painful experience, and clients may sometimes need help getting through the grieving process.

The Cope with Financial Loss Hypnosis Script from The Script Collection was put together to help clients heal from the grief of a financial loss and take steps towards a positive future.

The pre-talk reassures the client that it's okay to grieve a financial loss, and that it's normal for it to take some time to come to terms with it. It relates the findings of a study in which people's happiness levels were found to be similar a year after winning the lottery or after losing the use of their legs, demonstrating that people's overall life satisfaction isn't as deeply impacted by major life events as we might think.

The pre-talk encourages the client to seek support, to practice good self-care, and to find solace in the knowledge that "over time, things can and will get better." Finally, it assures the client that the session will help them to take practical steps to get through this challenging time.

The induction focuses on slowing and smoothing the breath, gently encouraging the client to relax into their experience, whatever that might be. Short phrases repeating the same words in different orders defy expectation and prompt the client to start to dissociate from reality. A rolling description of the "deeper part of you... that dreams dreams" helps the client let go of any sense of needing to try to relax into trance, instead allowing them to let go naturally.

The client is guided to recognize the "space and the silence" in which thoughts arise and dissolve. An analogy of the mind to a blue sky creates "a growing sense of calm clarity" as the client is encouraged to let go deeper still into the expansive space within.

The induction continues with instructions to progressively relax, allowing a "wave of deepest calm" to flow through the body one body part at a time. These commands are punctuated by long silences, giving the client space to really experience this growing relaxation.

Now the trancework begins by prompting the client to consider how it would feel to be there for a loved one who had experienced a great loss, and translating that to the way they treat themselves. Next they are encouraged to see the self "who was feeling overwhelmed by things" as being in the past, and to send peace and healing energy into that self with every out-breath.

Embedded commands push the client to internalize the idea that "you're going to get through this" as this message of comfort and strength flows into them. They are given guidance on how to do this: by allowing themselves space and compartmentalizing their grieving process so that they can find clarity and perspective.

Now the script transitions to a consideration of stories "throughout the ages" in which people have lost everything and been forced to begin again. It is posited that the client's ancestors who have experienced and bounced back from this kind of loss have allowed their resilience to flow through the generations "into the very fabric of [their] being."

The client is now guided to feel a new sense of determination that they will get through this, experiencing this first in the hands, then in the feet, the spine, and the eyes. They are asked to look forward and see a future version of themselves physically embodying this determination and strength, seeking advice when needed, coming to terms with the past, and moving towards the future - just as countless people have done before.

This future is explored further, showing that the client can and will find success, accomplishment, meaning, and fulfilment. Finally, the client is guided to merge with this future self, to notice the sense of profound relief at having this difficult time way back in the past and reflect on how they were able to make it through by being decent to themselves and allowing time to rebuild.
