Hi

Ever wondered how a skilled hypnotist gets people to experience physical changes such as anesthesia? This month's complimentary audio insight will show you precisely how it's done. How to elicit hypnotic phenomena will make it clear how communication affects the brain whether we are overtly using hypnosis or not. (Related downloads: Hand Levitation, Glove Anesthesia).

As usual I have explored below what went into developing some of this month's downloads - remember you can see further discussion on the Hypnosis Downloads blog. I'll explore others in detail briefly describing what inspired them.

But for now, clear your mind, focus your attention for a few pleasurable moments and..relax deeply. .

All the best,

Mark

Downloads Unwrapped - the psychology behind the sessions

Every session we produce is informed by current psychology and sensible hypnotic technique. There is an art as well as a science to creating the best possible hypnotic session.

Last month there was a big hoo-ha in the British press about anti-depressants not working any better than placebos. (1) Antidepressants may benefit many people but for those who want help weaning off we have produced Antidepressant Withdrawal. Its not just the side-effects that people don't like but the feeling that they are not getting better from depression naturally or 'cleanly.'

We make it clear that this hypnotic session should be used in conjunction with medical help and support but nevertheless we are excited at the prospect of using hypnosis to greatly ease the transition. We frame withdrawal as 'healing time' and I also suggest that the couple of weeks after initial weaning will fly by rapidly making the transition feel much easier. Time distortion is a favored method of the hypnotherapist.

We want people to come off their antidepressants comfortably, of course, but getting used to too much comfort can prevent us from stretching ourselves to embrace new challenges. With this in mind we have created Expand Your Comfort Zone.

It's so easy to fall into the trap of always doing what we've always done and become afraid to try new things or go for opportunities. This session is designed to get people braver about taking calculated risks: "Risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing." And talking of taking calculated risks the new Control Your Emotions session seeks to make masters of slaves.

When emotion swamps us then we are slave to it. Yet emotion is basically meant to serve us, to help us survive and to motivate us to achieve. But if emotion spills out uncontrollably, preventing us being as capable as we could be, then it needs to be reigned in - at least some of the time.

Your Testimonial

"I downloaded the Prevent Alcohol Relapse and had a good response upon listening just one time."

"Because I hadn't tried a hypnosis download before, I decided not to try the most expensive, 'Quit Smoking' for $97, and decided to try something less and possibly work my way up to that if the lesser priced worked."

"I addressed my stopping drinking alcohol which I had stopped a month ago but had been feeling addictive in other ways and a bit anxious so I downloaded the Prevent Alcohol Relapse and had a good response upon listening just one time."
