Small children struggle to make any sense of death and dying, and their endless questions can be very tough on you too. It's a good idea to answer their questions very directly and plainly, and to allow yourselves to grieve together. But don't be surprised if children sometimes appear to 'forget' what has happened, and play and laugh as if nothing has changed. This is a normal part of dealing with strange and difficult experiences.
