Interrupting has caused real issues between my husband and me throughout the 24 years we've been together. Without going into background trauma etc., I'll just say I've struggled with this issue, particularly within this relationship. Over the years, I've had various forms of therapy, including EMDR, which have helped me massively with other areas of healing, but the interrupting and defensiveness remained a factor.

Facing real damage within my marriage and the possibility of the relationship ending altogether as my husband really felt he couldn't continue taking this level of interruption, particularly during arguments or debates, I went looking, again, for something that could help me, and came across Uncommon Knowledge.

Within a few sessions, I no longer felt the impulse to interrupt and furthermore, I was listening with intention, and truly felt respect for the words my husband was speaking. I am now listening to the session as and when I feel I need a refresher.
