Fear of animals getting injured
I guess an early chilhood experience has stayed with me my entire life. I cringe at the idea of harm that may come to an animal. I can not watch or listen to tv shows when a scene involves any thing like this. I know movies are not real. The idea makes me cringe. Sometimes it jogs old visions of incidents from the past. I feel so awful. I love animals. It is so sad all the awful things that happen to them. I would like to overcome this.

This may be an issue you'd need to speak to a therapist about, someone who can personalize the session to your needs and perhaps even evaluate you for trauma, given your mention of "old visions of incidents from the past". But I've also tagged a download below for you to consider.
You might also find some relief in knowing you're not alone. So many people don't like seeing animals harmed in media that there's an entire website called Does the Dog Die? devoted to cataloging what happens to the animals in various films and TV shows.
