Being present during classes and retaining as much as possible

Anonymous's picture

Hello!

I sometimes spend almost the whole day at college at classes and since there is a whole lot of information being presented daily, I sometimes get the feeling, even at the end of the day, that not everything is firmly cemented in my mind, which of course I understand is to some degree normal.

So my goal for which I'm seeking assistance is getting the most out of the hours spent at college - (quickly) remembering (most of) the information heard at classes and being able to recall it.

Also on that note, I find that I  learn quicker by reading the information, but the classes are mandatory so I want to make the most out of them! Because of that I sometimes feel that the time spent at classes was wasted...

I don't find it hard to focus, but I'm sure there is room for improvement for that too.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

Thank you for your question and apologies for my delay in replying.

Of course, as I'm sure you know, to really cement something in the mind, it usually has to be reviewed a time or two, so taking good notes during class would help you with that. There are some more practical tips in Mark's articles here: '7 Savvy Study Techniques to Keep You Learning' and 'How to Improve Memory and Concentration'.

I'll also tag some downloads below that you should find helpful.

Best wishes,
