Overcoming fear of illness, changing fears

Anonymous's picture

Hello,

Thank you for excellent support here in that help area. Please continue like that!!!

I have two patients with fear.

One has fear of constantly getting ill and has had cancer already several times.

The other one has always changing fears, a psychology issue when he is reading about other people having fears, he can get them like that.

Both had very bad childhood experiences of insecurity, grief, and loss. Both want to be happy, but their psyche is ALWAYS giving them the bad thinking alternative. They have no positive thinking whatsoever.

I would be glad to have a little help with which scripts to use first, because it is so many issues at once.

Is it wise to treat the childhood issues, to come at ease with them? Are there scripts? Or focus first on each fear?

Thank you very much!

Guten tag,

Thank you for your question.

We have several fear-related scripts in our Fears and Phobias section. I've tagged a few helpful downloads below and you can reach the script version of each by clicking the 'Text version' link on the bottom right of those pages.

There's usually no need to dig into the childhood issues, as you can hear Mark discuss here. Oftentimes, by treating the current issue, you can make helpful 'ripples' that reach into other parts of their lives (see also: systemic theory). But if you do need to treat any lingering trauma from their grief and loss, you'd be best suited learning the Rewind Technique.

I hope this helps!

Best wishes,

Rebekah
