My wife has terrible mood swings

My wife was attacked and beaten several months before we married and she now has terrible mood swings. We are very close and she laughs during sex. We want to have children but her mood swings scare me. Is it possible to replace anger with love? While I don't want total control, we want children thus I am looking for a very loving wife.

I wonder does your wife suffer flashbacks or nightmares? It may be that she is suffering from PTSD (post-traumatic-stress-disorder) and that could be driving these mood swings.
