Life gets easier when you know how to be more tactful
Have you ever been told to be more tactful? Do you pick up on the subtle signals people send about what they think and how they feel, or do you just open your mouth and say the first thing that comes out? Do you often feel hurt or confused by the unexpectedly cold or angry reactions you get to what you say? Sometimes talking to people can feel like navigating a minefield. And tact is your mine detector.
Foot in mouth syndrome
Some people seem to have invisible antennae for picking up on what other people are thinking or feeling. They seem to have a knack for always saying the right thing. For others of us, it's more like we have blinkers over our eyes and muffs over our ears and every time we open our mouths we seem to put our feet in them. (Nice image, huh?) And this can happen even when we are trying to be tactful!
Why it's important to know how to be tactful
The trouble is, tactfulness isn't on any school curriculum I know of. It seems we are expected to master it by osmosis. Or guess work. But if we get it wrong, we can get severely punished, in spite of our efforts. This knocks us back, and can make us scared of engaging too closely with people. Why offer yourself up for knocks?
At the same time, it's clear that learning how to be more tactful could really bring rewards. When conversation goes smoothly, when everybody gets along well and nobody gets wound up, relationships feel so much more rewarding and satisfying. Tact allows us to get more out of life.
But how do you go about improving your tactfulness if you don't seem to have a natural talent for it?
Hypnosis can help you be more tactful when you need it
Talking with tact is an audio hypnosis session developed by experienced psychologists which anyone can use to build and enhance the ability to notice and respond to the subtle cues of human interactions which form the basis of good diplomatic communication.
This session makes use of both your conscious and unconscious learning skills, and makes it feel really easy and simple to instil and integrate everything you need to improve your interactions with other people and really begin to enjoy them at a deep level.
