I buy and sell land. I need to cold call people to purchase their vacant land for which they are tax delinquent. For my business to succeed, I need to make lowball offers. One in 50 will accept. I am providing a service, because 1) vacant land is difficult to sell; 2) they are burdened by the annual taxes; and 3) many are in danger of foreclosure. I'm offering them a way out.

However, it has been my experience that people are very VERY sensitive to lowball offers for land for which they paid thousands of dollars thirty years ago, but today is worth many times less. I've already received several voice mail messages telling me in explicit detail how to off myself.

In order for me to succeed at this, I need to learn how to take these insults, shrug them off, and move on. I already have "Telesales Confidence" which is good, but I'm looking for something that will help me build a mental Iron Dome that deflects the insults and empty threats I will receive over the phone.
