Anxiety Self Help

Anxiety is a part of life for many people, but when it gets out of control and makes your life miserable, you'll do yourself a great favor with some anxiety self help. You can use anxiety in some good ways: it makes your more alert and ready for action, and it can help you know when to run from a dangerous situation. But an excess of anxiety can do exactly the opposite by interfering with your ability to function on a day-to-day basis.

When anxiety gets out of control, it's called an anxiety disorder and very real physical symptoms can occur. These symptoms may include sleep disturbances, shakiness, muscle aches, and upset stomach, among many others. There are many types of anxiety disorders, including phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and panic disorder. If you think you may have any of these problems, you should seek help. But if you're suffering from general anxiety that hasn't reached these proportions, anxiety self help may be just what you need.

One method of anxiety self help is hypnosis. The mind is divided into the conscious and the unconscious. The conscious is what we use every day when we are alert and awake. The unconscious is where we store thoughts, emotions, and memories. Hypnosis breaks down the barrier between the conscious and unconscious and allows you to plant positive thoughts there to take the place the negative ones that cause anxiety.
