Hi Rebekah

Wasn't trying to make you jealous :)I can imagine constant desert getting you down after 4 years!

You can rest assured having a view of a nature reserve from your window will have great physical and psychological benefits for you.

"Right, I’m off to fish for another invite up to Oban, where I hear the weather is still rather good. ... I have a beautiful green place in mind…"

Mark, are you *trying* to make me jealous? ;)

It's interesting to hear about your research, knowing that I was not happy living in the California desert the last 4 years. Getting up to the mountains usually felt more comfortable; I commented to my companions one trip that I'd suddenly realized, "I miss trees!" (I thought it was just because I grew up in Wisconsin.)

I recently moved closer to the coast and have a lovely view of a nature preserve out my bedroom window. Better job, too, among other things, but the greenery is high in my list of reasons I'm glad to have escaped the desert.

Thanks for the food for thought.
