post retirement stress and overwhelm

Elaine Wilson's picture

My husband retired around two and a half years ago and since then spends a lot of time sitting watching TV.

He seems to have lost his problem-solving ability, his concentration, and his ability to deal with any situation, even domestic, that presents itself. He is only 60 years old.

He gets stressed at the least thing and seems overwhelmed, even though he does not have anything to do.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you.

Hi Elaine,

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry to hear about what your husband has been going through. It's important for all of us to make sure our primal human needs are met the best we can and for many people (men especially, it seems), many of those needs get met through work. So when work ends due to retirement, disability, or any other reason, we need to find new ways to meet those needs or we start to struggle. I've also tagged some other downloads below that can help.

Best wishes,
