I have a cousin whom I love but with whom I've always had problems. We fought over nothing, and we did it often. We couldn't seem to get along. This same cousin had a traumatic experience a few months ago and, since she needed support, I went to stay with her.

I relaxed to your "Be Kinder" download each night for a week or so before the trip. Each day while I was there, I would excuse myself for a "nap" in the afternoon and listen to the download again.

Focusing on someone else's needs to the exclusion of one's own is a difficult job for anyone under any circumstances, so I expected it would be even more difficult for me because of our history.
