Learning 'Self Hypnosis' before giving birth not only
makes giving birth easier but also eases the pregnancy
and the stresses and strains of being a parent. So why
is hypnosis so helpful?
Everyone
knows that what you think can affect the way you feel
- Blair Witch is proof enough that the imagination can
cause the body to react.
In the same way, anxiety can get in the way of natural
childbirth processes but hypnosis can unpick this response:
- allowing expectant mums spend more of their
pregnancy in a relaxed state
- regularly rehearsing being relaxed during childbirth
- learning real skills to bring down her pain
levels and put her more in control
- and stimulating the release of endorphins -
nature's painkillers.
Relaxation
during pregnancy has also been shown to lower levels
of the stress hormone cortisol in your baby, meaning
your baby is less likely to react to sudden noises or
other stressors. There's nothing better for a
good night's sleep than a calm baby!
