How passion gets lost in the hurly burly of life

Children are full of passion. Barring ill-health or misfortune, they bounce out of bed every day and engage with the world. They explore every avenue open to them and begin to discover what they love, what lights up their day. Lucky children are encouraged to develop these loves and find their unique path.

But lucky or unlucky, we have to survive out there. As we reach adulthood, and assume adult responsibilities, we can feel as if we must put away our passionate childhood dreams of travelling into space. After all, who's recruiting space travellers? Better concentrate on the nitty gritty. Better be realistic and think about a mortgage. And so we do.

But we know we have lost out. And we may have lost out because of a misconception.
