Jealousy paranoia is also called a delusional disorder because the person who suffers from this condition has a
delusion that his/her loved one is constantly unfaithful. They often confront their partners with their unfounded
suspicions. They are so sure that they are right in assuming that the partner has been cheating that physical abuse
is often involved. Jealousy paranoia destroys marriages, families and friendships because these are the
relationships that are the subject of the delusion.
Domestic violence is very often the result of insane jealousy. This abnormal jealousy, which tears families
apart, is very common in society and many times people do not seek help because they do not believe there is
anything wrong with them. The partner is often too embarrassed to admit that a problem exits and so the jealousy
paranoia is allowed to continue. When people can admit that they have a problem, then they realize that there is
lots of help available for them.
There are checklists available to determine if you are suffering from a delusional jealousy as well as to determine
if you are a victim of the jealousy. Help can be obtained by having your doctor refer you to a trained therapist to
counsel both partners through the healing process. Hypnosis is an excellent source of help in situations of
jealousy as it teaches the patient how to recognize that a jealous urge is coming on and how to cope with it.
It teaches methods for relaxation and results in making life better for all concerned by
relieving the jealousy paranoia.
