‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ So said Franklin D Roosevelt. It’s not quite true, but it does touch upon something very important. The most dangerous thing that most people do is smoke. One out of two 20-a-day smokers will be killed by their habit. In spite of that, people happily puff away while worrying non-stop about the dangers of flying, or of putting the trash out after watching a late night horror movie. There are nearly seven billion people in the world and nearly all of them will never become targets of terrorists. But we all have a tendency to confuse possibility (just about anything is possible) with probability.
When we see something, that thing immediately seems a) more widespread than it really is and b, more likely to happen to us personally. We all saw the 9/11 atrocities. The twin towers disaster was horrific and footage of the attacks was quickly seen by hundreds of millions of people all round the globe. But by far the most widespread effect of terrorism is not any actual harm to people, but terror itself. People not personally affected become personally affected.
The new hypnosisdownloads.com session Overcome fear of terrorism is for people who have found their everyday life has been compromised by a preoccupation with the possibility of themselves becoming terrorist targets.
All the very best
