Will I respond to English hypnosis even though English is not my mother tongue?

Hi Mark,

English is not my mother tongue, but I am very good in it. My question is, if I got into a hypnosis session, will my subconscious respond to English effectively? I am afraid that when I switch to the subconscious mode, I will lose the ability to understand another language rather than my native one. What do you think?

Also, if I want to do a hypnosis session to someone else, can I do it in English if he can understand English? Or must I do it with his native language only?

Hope to hear from you.

Hello Osama and thank you for your question.

I have successfully hypnotized hundreds of people whose English was less fluent than yours. And some of the best hypnotherapists I have trained have not been native English speakers, but very keen to learn the art and science of hypnosis. They have become highly proficient in using hypnosis in English.

In fact, for some people, listening to English hypnosis (when English is not their mother tongue) may even be an advantage, because the conscious mind can focus on the comprehension whilst the unconscious can be left free to just respond to the hypnosis. This splitting of conscious and unconscious responsiveness is integral to all hypnosis.

I hope that answers your question.

All my best,

Mark
