If you last got your links before April 13th 2010, you need to update now

Dear affiliate

As an affiliate myself, I know how annoying it can be when an affiliate program changes its links and requires you to update.

This is why when we moved HypnosisDownloads.com to its new home, we did everything we could to avoid asking you to do this. In the end, it was good old Internet Explorer that tripped us up.

What we found after moving to the new site, with a help of a couple of eagle-eyed affiliates, was that commissions were not tracking properly through some versions of Internet Explorer. So we quickly created some server-side code that 'sniffed' the browser and used a different redirect method for IE users.

This worked nicely, but a couple of weeks later we started noticing something very worrying - our Google traffic was dropping.

Now we didn't do anything sudden, because Google had been less than predictable over the following month or so, but after exhausting all other possibilities, we came to the conclusion that the IE redirect, in conjunction with a couple of other site configuration issues, was causing us major problems.

This means you could miss out on some commission if you don't update your links to the new format

You can tell which are 'old format' links because they contain .html, such as http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/learn_hypnosis.html - the new format links do not, such as http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/learn-hypnosis

To help you with the task, we've developed a tool for you to create the new page URLs from the old ones. Just pop in the old page address you want to update and click the button (you can add multiple links in one go too if you want).

Here's the link update tool:
http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/cgi-bin/rtool.pl

Alternatively, you can get fresh links for the various linking methods from your Affiliate Area

You'll see in the tool that the difference is old links contain '.html' and new links do not. (Although you might be tempted to just delete the '.html', this will not work in all cases, so the safest way to update your links is to use the URL converter tool).

My apologies again for the hassle and inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding, and if you have any questions, please contact me here.

Best Regards
